United Grappling Foundation is a nonprofit based in Redwood City, California, with a mission to make Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu accessible to every child—regardless of their financial circumstances. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu teaches more than technique—it builds character. Kids learn to persevere, to respect others, and to keep showing up even when things get tough. For many, the academy becomes a second home, a safe place to grow physically, emotionally, and socially. Our goal is simple: remove the barrier of cost for families. Through community donations and sponsorships, we provide scholarships that cover the cost of academy memberships, uniforms, and other essential gear. We work directly with local BJJ schools to identify kids from under-resourced backgrounds who are eager to train but can’t afford to.
